We think fruit is pretty perfect as is, so the less we mess around with it the better. That’s why our fruit purees go from fruit to pouch in 4 simple steps – with nothing artificial added along the way.
We Picked the Fruit You’d Pick…
Our fruit is responsibly sourced from family-owned orchards – most located within miles of our factory in the foothills of Virginia.
And over the years, we’ve partnered with these local orchards to ensure we’re starting with only the best fruit. In fact, our purees start with USDA –certified Grade A fruit (some of which is USDA certified Organic). And we hand-selected only the best pieces – just like you would! Any fruit pieces that don’t make the cut are then sent to local farms as feed or compost.
Made In Small Batches…
To us, bigger isn’t always better – because going big can sometimes mean missing the finer details. That’s why we craft our fruit puree only in small batch kettles, so we can make sure the taste and texture of every batch are just right.
Seal Fresh, fast and simple…
From fruit to sealed-in-pouch, our small-batch process is complete in under 90 minutes. This way, we can seal in fruit’s natural freshness without having to use any of that artificial nonsense – like artificial preservatives, colorings or additives.
It’s really a simple process and that’s exactly the way we intend to keep it!
And Pack Smart.
Packaging plays the most important role in keeping our fruit pouches fresh!
Which is why we use BPA free, preformed pouches to limit the risk of air exposure. Because as you probably know, fresh-cut fruit and air don’t always make the best of buddies. We then pack and ship our pouches in 100% recyclable material approved by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative® from sustainably managed forests.
But we still have lots of room for improvement. So we’re working with our packaging partners to find more sustainably smart options. In the meantime we’re teaming up with Terracycle to make our pouches and tubes more recyclable. Click here to learn more about that!
